Local Fianna Fail TD, Frank O’Rourke, has been informed that works to refurbish the Celbridge Dental Clinic will commence shortly.
“The Minister for Health has informed me that the HSE expects that a contractor for the refurbishment works of the Celbridge Dental Clinic will be appointed shortly and works will start. Tenders for the work have been received and are being reviewed by the HSE.”
“The Minister responded to me following the issue being raised by me in the Dail by way of a Topical Issue on the 27th November last.”
“The closure of Celbridge Dental Clinic, in June 2018, has been necessary to enable refurbishment and compliance with new regulations. It is intended that the dental service provided in Maynooth and Leixlip will be relocated to Celbridge after the clinic in Celbridge is refurbished and reopened.
“Centralising the dental service in North Kildare and developing an upgraded and larger facility, the service can operate more efficiently and effectively in terms of service delivery. This will result in a greater number of patients being offered appointments due to the more efficient use of clinical time and resources.”
“I welcome this investment and I will keep in touch with the Department and the HSE until this clinic is reopened.” Concluded Deputy O’Rourke.
